Osher Membership - Join the Club!

How to Join

If you are 50 or over, you may join Osher and begin to take advantage of the benefits at any point during the year. Call 801-585-5442 to sign up, or print and mail the membership form today.

Membership Options

Available for $30 per year, membership in the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is FLEXIBLE, AFFORDABLE, and FUN!

You can become a member without taking classes and add classes in an a la carte fashion as time allows.

Osher Class Pricing

Refer to individual class details for tuition and special materials fees that may apply. Take two or more courses in a term and get 10% off your total tuition.

Osher has scholarships available to assist with tuition for those who may not otherwise be able to take classes. Find out more on this page.

Membership $30/year

Membership in the Osher Institute entitles you to attend a full year of fantastic special events and lectures at no charge and to receive other member benefits whether or not you're taking classes. Your Osher Membership entitles you to take advantage of special community benefits too. For example, you can receive a 10% off your total purchase at The Kings English Bookstore, Sam Wellers Zion Bookstore, and Cactus & Tropicals. Or, you can receive $5.00 off a full-service oil change or 50% off a state safety inspection at any of the six Burt Brothers Tire and Service locations. Add a course or two and take advantage of student benefits too.

  • Community benefits card for discounts on books, food, auto, art supplies, and entertainment
  • 25% discount on courses* offered through Continuing Education's Technology Education program (801) 581-6061.
  • 25% discount on courses* offered through Continuing Education's Lifelong Learning program (801) 587-5433.

* Discounts are available on a space available basis. Call the respective office four days before the class starts to inquire about availability and to register at the discounted price. To guarantee a space, register at full price anytime. Discounts will not be applied retroactively.

Student Benefits

Members registered for at least one course are also eligible to get a University of Utah student ID card (for $10, must be picked up at the U Card office in the Olpin Union on campus). The ID card is active for discounts and benefits whenever you are actively taking classes. Examples of benefits include the following. Show your card where ever you go and see what benefits may be available.

  • Free access to the Utah Museum of Fine Arts, Utah Museum of Natural History, and Red Butte Garden
  • Eligible to join the MUSS - Mighty Utah Student Section - and attend football games all season for $25. Guest memberships available for $85. Questions about MUSS? Call Athletics at 801-581-3709.
  • Discounts at Kingsbury Hall and the Utah Symphony and Opera
  • Full Library access at all University libraries
  • Free access to campus computer labs and free email account and on line file storage
  • Discount on purchases at Smiths on 400 S. (Salt Lake City). Show ID card at the store to get special Fresh Values card.
  • Eligible to purchase a campus recreation pass*

* Must be purchased from Osher. Indicate your desire to purchase on the registration form or call the office when phone registration opens.
