The following lists some of our more popular custom trainings, but possibilities are endless. If you have a specific need or are having trouble identifying your need, give us a call at 801-585-1780. We would be happy to discuss your situation in more detail so that we create a training program that works best for you!

Improving Organizational Quality

Over the past 30 years, the quality profession has expanded its purview beyond the original scope of identifying defects in manufacturing or maintenance. Quality professionals now benefit commercial and public organizations in a variety of ways. The Professional Education Instructor for this course endeavors in their role as a quality trainer to guide the analysis of organizational efficiency and effectiveness. This workshop focuses on establishing or improving processes that add value to the organization's business practices.

Customer Service Excellence

In this course, the audience not only gains intense awareness of the need for change, they gain the skills needed to modify their behavior. The objectives of this training include building long-lasting customer relationships, reducing hostile customer environments, increasing repeat business, and reaching new levels of customer satisfaction with both internal and external customers.

Increasing your Leadership Effectiveness

In this training, you will not simply focus on the leadership skill of the day — you will learn how we lead from our own needs and how that leadership style undermines the performance results we want from our employees. Traditional leadership behaviors and their strengths and weaknesses in fostering people's competence, confidence and performance ownership will also be explored. In addition, effective communication skills to better align leadership behaviors to the performance results sought will be examined.

Effective Business Writing for Today's Organizations

This workshop provides strategies for increasing the quality and value of business writing. Learn to convey information for action and change using techniques that make a great deal more sense than the sentence diagrams you suffered through in school. Topics covered include ways of tailoring different forms of business writing to various audiences. In this course, the instructor will include a discussion on different types of business documents including memos and letters, reports and proposals; how to write procedures; and a review of grammar and proofreading methods.

Effective Presentations

In all levels of management, individuals are expected to make clear and persuasive business presentations. The key to success is making them effective, lively and informative. Learn the strategies, guidelines, and techniques to become a more dynamic and persuasive presenter. This course focuses on presentation organization and structure including how to establish your purpose, how to analyze your audience, and how to create a presentation outline as needed; the instructor will provide individualized coaching to give participants feedback on their unique presentation styles.

Interest-Based Negotiations

In this training you will learn interest-based negotiation theory and skills. The course emphasizes the seven basic elements of effective negotiation developed by the Harvard Program on Negotiation: Relationship, Communication, Interests, Options, Legitimacy, Alternatives, and Commitment. The course text is Getting to Yes by Fisher, Ury and Patton, a classic book on interest-based negotiation. Upon course completion, participants will increase their understanding of the negotiation process and improve their practical skills and effectiveness as a negotiator, be able to diagnose what is happening in a negotiation and determine how to try to improve the quality of the process, and increase their ability to efficiently motivate another person to negotiate a mutually agreeable resolution or transaction.

Project Management

Upon successful completion of these courses, participants will understand project management concepts and techniques that will greatly increase your odds of successfully managing projects. The Basics class discusses the 5 process areas of initiation, planning, execution, control, and closure. Learn the detailed project initiation and planning steps that will set the stage for success before you begin a project. Also covered are: quality assurance to maintain high quality work products; communicating with your team and customers; staying on top of budgets, schedules, and scope issues; and a variety of checklists to review throughout the continuum of the five process areas. The Advanced class provides an alternative approach to project management that builds agility into the project management process. Learn how to successfully manage projects to hit optimal target market windows and maximize business value to meet market needs. If students have project management questions or lessons learned resulting from their employment to date, they will be encouraged to discuss these issues during class to enhance their understanding of the course materials.
